EC Recycling is a South African recycler focused on two of the most valuable end-of-life streams: electronic waste and catalytic converters. We exist because honest, itemised pricing — backed by documentation — is harder to find in this industry than it should be.
What we believe
Recycling sits at an awkward intersection. On one side, valuable metals waiting to be recovered. On the other, hazardous components that need to be properly handled. Get it right and everyone benefits — the seller is paid fairly, the metals re-enter the supply chain, and nothing toxic ends up where it shouldn't.
We built EC Recycling around four operating principles. They sound simple. They turn out to be unusual in practice:
- Itemise everything. Lumped quotes hide value. Itemised quotes prove it.
- Document the chain. From uplift to settlement, every step generates paperwork — weights, photos, certificates.
- Honour the metal. PGMs and copper deserve real assays, not approximations.
- Refuse what doesn't belong. We only buy from sellers with legitimate ownership and proper documentation.
What we don't do
Just as importantly — we don't quote on volume we haven't seen. We don't offer flat rates that ignore actual content. We don't buy stolen converters or anonymous lots without provenance. And we don't bury hazardous components in general waste streams.
The downstream processors we work with are reputable, licensed, and audit-friendly. We'd rather turn away a job than route it through a partner whose chain we don't trust.

- Panel shops, motor dealerships, and exhaust workshops with steady catalytic converter flow
- Scrap yards and metal traders looking for a downstream partner for e-waste and cats

- Government & municipal entities with regulated disposal requirements
Where we're going
EC Recycling is in active build-out. We're finalising our primary processing facility, completing our regulatory accreditations, and expanding our nationwide collection network. As those pieces lock into place, this page — and the rest of the site — will fill in with the specifics.
